Trek is one of the most popular and well-known names in the field of bikes today and we are so excited to be one of the newest Trek Dealers in South Jersey. The company began all the way back in 1976 and from the very beginning, they have worked to provide the best quality bikes possible. Trek bikes have become one of the most sought after brands in the United States and worldwide. The designers and engineers at the company work to provide a wide range of different types of bikes, including hybrids, simple road bikes and racing bikes, which continue to improve with each generation.
All bikes from Trek have a lifetime warranty – it’s true. They build their bikes to last and subject them to “brutal punishment in the world’s toughest test lab”. Just like our crew at Shore Brake, Trek takes care of their customers and does what’s right. Their lifetime warranty is a simple promise and covers all bikes, back to their very first frames built in 1976.
Another principle that we love about Trek is that they believe that the world is better with bikes and can be a simple solution to many of the world’s most complex problems – climate change, obesity, congestion, the health of our people and planet. Through a bicycle, we can (and will) change this world for the better. That hits home for us. Our shop is located on a barrier island along the Jersey Shore and we have seen the impact that many of these issues have on our community. We are proud to be able to be a part of the Trek Family of dealers.
One of the most interesting types of products that the company has been developing is Trek electric bikes. These bikes are truly innovative, and they can change up the entire riding experience. Most importantly, the Trek e-bikes are breaking down barriers to riding and are incredibly fun.
The bikes have electronic systems in them from Bosch, along with high-quality motors. These bicycles are pedal-assist and therefore do not do all the work for the rider, rather they will help to provide some amplification for the pedaling effort. This will make it much easier to climb hills and to go through tougher terrain. The range for the bikes, depending on the terrain, the power mode, and riding conditions, is between 20 miles and 100 miles.
Luckily, in New Jersey Gov. Murphy signed legislation to clarify New Jersey laws regarding electric bicycles (e-bikes) and adding new regulations for electric scooters (e-scooters). The new law will make it easier for people to travel around New Jersey without using a car. Learn more about that here.
